As a publisher I worry about companies that rip us off more than the other way around. I have run across several shady affiliate companies that have either gone out of business and left their publishers out of their commissions or just plain don’t pay on sales commissions. I know there is a lawsuit against Commission Junction. How do us publishers protect ourselves from getting short changed out of our commissions?

I guess you could stick with top affiliate programs like Amazon, ClickBank, ShareASale, etc. I would think Commission Junction is pretty safe, but I haven’t of that lawsuit… Anyhow, a link cloaker like ViralUrl should help you protect your affiliate links, but make sure you pick established affiliate programs first (on established sites or networks).
