There’s a lot going on on the Internet browser scene these days… Every day you can read new articles and reviews about the latest versions of Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, and even about the latest Google Chrome patches. March is a big month for two big name companies in the browser world: Microsoft and Mozilla.

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9 was released to the public on March 14, 2011, approximately six months after the release of the beta version. It includes significant alterations to its user interface when compared with previous versions, and is said to be Microsoft’s best browser yet. I doubt that a lot of people who switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox or Chrome in the past will ever go back to Microsoft’s Internet browser… but it is definitely worth checking out Microsoft’s work. Click here to download Internet Explorer 9 and give this new version a try. On the first day of commercial availability, Internet Explorer 9 was downloaded over 2.35 million times.

As for Mozilla Firefox 4, it was released to the public on March 22, 2011, approximately nine months after the release of the first beta version. This new version of Firefox has been long awaited by Internet enthusiats and professionals. It brings a new user interface, with a new look designed to make it seem faster. Whether or not you are a Firefox user, you should download this new version and give it a try. Click here to download Mozilla Firefox 4 and try it out now. On the first day of commercial availability, Firefox 4 was downloaded 7.1 million times, which means Firefox won the battle over Internet Explorer this time. In 2008, Firefox 3 was downloaded 8.2 million times during the 24-hour launch period… They didn’t break the record but I think it was a nice attempt.

Note that both Internet Explorer 9 and Firefox 4 offer tracking protection, which means that you can choose not to let websites access the Internet browser’s data to deliver targeted ads to you. However, don’t think the battle only involves Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox… Google Chrome has become a big player and is gaining market shares every week! Google keeps improving its Internet browser, and Google Chrome 10 was actually released earlier this month. Click here to download Google Chrome 10 if you don’t have it on your computer yet. As of January 2011, Internet Explorer was used by 43.55% of Internet users, Mozilla Firefox was used by 29% of them, and Google Chrome by 13.89% of them. Let’s see how this big month will affect the Internet browser scene!

Firefox 3.5 is out! If you’re already a Firefox user, make sure you download the latest version of your favorite web browser. If you’re not, well… you should definitely think about it! I use Firefox for quite a few years now, and I’m really happy about it. I feel it’s safer than other web browsers, and some of the add-ons are very useful. I also believe Firefox 3 is much faster than the previous versions. I used to complain a lot about how slow the previous versions were. Not anymore…

According to website applications company Net Applications, Firefox accounted for almost 23 percent of the recorded usage of web browsers in May 2009, while Internet Explorer accounted for a little more than 65 percent. As a reminder, Firefox is not installed on all PCs as Internet Explorer is… If you’re not convinced, check out the features and add-ons, and just try it out! You won’t be disappointed. I’ve never heard of people trying Firefox and switching back to Internet Explorer…

I downloaded Internet Explorer 8 when it came out a few weeks ago. I sometimes use it at work, but now most websites are fully compatible with Firefox, I never use it at home. Microsoft really tries to push web users to download the latest version of Internet Explorer this time. I don’t think Internet Explorer 7 was very successful; some people are still using Internet Explorer 6… Anyway, you may have noticed the Firefox button I added on the right column, right below the live traffic feed. I’m really getting into this Spread Firefox thing. Check out their affiliate program, you can win stuff. That’s very good viral marketing…
